What it is
This is more than a Compression Boots appointment. It is a layered recovery experience designed to help your legs decompress while giving your nervous system permission to settle.
You’ll relax in pneumatic Compression Boots while using a weighted blanket and listening to a NuCalm audio experience. The three elements work together:
- Compression Boots provide rhythmic pressure to the legs.
- The weighted blanket offers gentle, evenly distributed pressure and a feeling of physical containment.
- NuCalm audio uses a structured sound experience to support a quieter, more restful state.
The weighted blanket and NuCalm audio are included at no additional charge.
How it works
The boots contain connected air chambers that inflate and release in sequence. This creates a wave-like pressure moving through the legs.
The sensation is similar to a firm, rhythmic squeeze. It is not the same as massage or manual lymphatic drainage, but many people enjoy it after training, travelling or spending long periods standing or sitting.
What is NuCalm?
NuCalm provides an audio-based relaxation experience through headphones. Rather than asking you to meditate, concentrate or “clear your mind,” the sound gives your attention somewhere to settle.
Music-based interventions have been studied for their potential effects on emotional well-being, anxiety and pain, although results depend on the person and setting.
At Whealth, NuCalm is offered as a relaxation tool—not as a treatment for anxiety, insomnia or another medical condition.
Why people choose it
Why add the weighted blanket?
A weighted blanket provides consistent pressure across the body. Many people associate that pressure with comfort, stillness and a stronger sense of being grounded.
It also gives you something people often struggle to create for themselves: a physical cue that it is safe to stop moving and rest.
What happens during your session?
A standard appointment lasts approximately 30 minutes. Day Pass visitors receive a focused 25-minute experience.
You remain fully clothed while we help you into the boots and select a comfortable compression level. You’ll then receive:
- Rhythmic leg compression
- A weighted blanket
- Headphones with NuCalm audio
- A quiet space where nothing is expected of you
The pressure should feel firm but comfortable. Tell us immediately if you experience pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness or discomfort. The intensity can be adjusted or the session stopped.
What might I feel afterward?
You may notice:
- Lighter-feeling legs
- Reduced feelings of tightness
- A quieter mental state
- General relaxation
- Sleepiness
- A sense of having taken a meaningful pause
Individual experiences vary.
Who it may suit
This combination may be especially appealing if you:
- Have tired or heavy legs
- Have been standing, travelling or training
- Feel mentally overstimulated
- Find it difficult to switch out of “go mode”
- Want passive recovery without exercise
- Want a quiet reset before returning to work or home
- Are looking for a calming evening or sleep-supportive routine
What it pairs well with
- Whole Body Vibration before compression
- PEMF for an extended nervous-system reset
- The Recharge Package
- The Day Pass, which includes a focused version of this experience
Before you book
Compression may not be appropriate if you have a known or suspected blood clot, severe peripheral arterial disease, uncontrolled heart failure, significant loss of sensation, an acute infection, open wounds that cannot be protected or another condition affected by pressure.
If you have unexplained one-sided swelling, heat, redness, chest pain or sudden shortness of breath, do not use the boots—seek urgent medical assessment.
