Retreats · Cabarete, Dominican Republic

Back to nature.Back to yourself.Back to something a little wild.

Whealth retreats bring small groups to Cabarete for five to seven days of real space: away from the inbox, the schedule and everyone else’s expectations. We introduce you to the north coast of the Dominican Republic the way we live it, through its waterfalls, its cooks, its rhythms and its people.

Photos on this page are from past retreats and everyday life in Cabarete. They show the kind of experience we curate, not a scheduled itinerary.

Group retreats

Five to seven days, and a lot less noise

Most of our group retreats last five to seven days. They’re made for people who want room to breathe: space away from outside pressures, and a proper chance to hear yourself think.

Our job is to bring you into Cabarete, not just to it. We connect your group with the nature, people, movement, food and recovery this coast does so well: a hike to a waterfall, a long table with a local chef, a workshop that turns into a real conversation, and time set aside to rest so it isn’t squeezed in around the edges.

Every itinerary is curated for the group, and activities vary from retreat to retreat. What’s described here is what tends to happen, not a fixed inclusion. Where your group stays depends on the retreat: for some that’s a private villa, for others a different setting altogether.

  • Nature

Waterfall hikes, river and beach mornings, and the wide green quiet of the north coast.

  • People

Local guides, cooks and practitioners, and a group that gets to know each other properly.

  • Movement

Resistance stretching, mobility work and other movement, chosen to suit the group.

  • Food

Meals cooked by local cooks around Dominican produce and flavor.

  • Recovery

Bodywork and unhurried rest, so recovery is part of the plan and not an afterthought.

A day, imagined

What a day might feel like

An illustration, not an itinerary. Every retreat is planned around its group, so no two days look quite the same, but they tend to share a rhythm.

  1. Morning

    Slow and salty

Coffee while the light is still low. A quiet swim, a walk along the sand, or absolutely nothing. The day begins before anyone asks anything of you.

People wading into the sea at dawn beneath a pale, cloud-streaked sky.
  2. Late morning

    Into the green

A hike toward a waterfall, the kind that ends in cool water, wet rocks and a great deal of laughing. Somewhere along the way you might crack open a cacao pod or cross a river.

A coconut palm leaning over a bright green rice field in the Dominican countryside.
  3. Midday

    A long lunch

A table full of food cooked by a local chef: things like slow-simmered beans, fried plantain, ripe mango and whatever the market had that morning. Nobody rushes.

A plate of black beans, rice, fried plantain, avocado and fresh salad.
  4. Afternoon

    Learn, move, unwind

A workshop that drifts into a proper conversation. Resistance stretching to undo the hike. Bodywork for the hardest-working muscles. Then a hammock, if you’ve earned one.

Two friends with their arms around each other, seen from behind, looking out at the sea from beneath palm trees.
  5. Evening

    Dinner, music, dancing

A shared dinner as the light turns gold, and stories from the day. On the right night someone puts on salsa or bachata and the room finds out who can dance. (Nobody is obliged.)

A kayaker raising her paddle overhead against a golden sunset sky over marshland.

Workshops, guides, practitioners and activities are confirmed for each retreat individually.

Optional wellness planning

Looking after the practical side, too

Some groups like to use a retreat to look after their health in practical ways as well. Where it’s appropriate, we can help arrange optional wellness planning through qualified local partners: for example lab work, and other medical services, including IV therapy, when they’re suitable for the person.

  • Optional, and never assumed. It isn’t part of every retreat.
  • Delivered by independent, qualified local medical professionals, not by Whealth staff.
  • Subject to screening, availability and each person’s individual approval.
  • We help with introductions and logistics. Medical decisions stay with the professionals and the individual.

Solo retreats

A Cabarete reset, just for you

Not every reset needs a group. A solo retreat is a Cabarete stay we organize around one person: how many days you have, what you need, and what you’re curious about. Some people want waterfalls and long walks. Some want recovery sessions and a lot of sleep. Some want a bit of both.

For accommodation, we work with Kibayo, a boutique nature hotel in Cabarete beside a lagoon, within walking distance of Kite Beach. In its own words: “Peace inside. Adventure outside.”

Nothing here is a booking. Arrangements and availability are confirmed individually: Kibayo confirms your stay with you, and we confirm anything we organize. No room, rate or dates are held or included until they’ve been confirmed with you.

Doctor-led and corporate groups

Bring your group. We’ll bring Cabarete.

Leading a retreat for your own patients, clients or team? You bring the purpose and the people. Whealth works alongside cohosts, whether doctors, practitioners or company teams, to help coordinate the Cabarete side.

Every group’s plan is built from scratch. We can’t confirm specific practitioners, dates or availability until we’ve talked it through with you.

Ask a question

Hi! I’m Whealth’s question helper. I’m an automated tool, not a person. I answer from the information published on this website: services, prices, hours, policies, membership and retreats.

I can’t book appointments, check live availability, or give medical advice, and nothing is booked through this chat. For anything personal, you can message the Whealth team.

You don’t need to share your name, phone number or health history. Your question is only used to find an answer and isn’t saved.
